Welcoming Wendy-May

R.O.F.Y has a new member upon them! And that would be Wendy-May otherwise known as Sister W. I like bright tights and patterns, floral dresses and high waisted items.

The dress, i found in my dressing up box, my gran made it for me when i was ten. The top is from primark and so are the tights. The shoes are from topshop. And the belt is vintage.

Lu Kun

Is a designer based in Shang-hai, China. I heard about him a couple of weeks ago on the ever cheesy but excellent America's Next Top Model. I am probably really behind and everyones already heard of him but what you gonna do. So i googled his name a few days ago and could only find photos of his last year collection. Its pretty alright, me thinks, nothing special. Quite oddly there were two random dresses at the end of the photos that do not fit with the rest at all. but they are most definitely designed by him. How odd!

Today I wore

This! Of course the two main items are not mine. The denim jacket being Susan's and the dress being Sister W's.

Denim Jacket - Charity Shop, Black dress - dorothy perkins, t-shirt - H&M, Black tights - no idea, Grey socks - asos.com and heart shoes - H&M kids (i have no clue how i fit in them as they're a 6 and i'm actaully a 7, surely children don't have size 7 feet!)

You can see a tiny peek of my newly acquired frigey fringe. it's a full one and i love it! i've been deliberating whether to get one or not for a year now and i finally made the cut last thursday. i am very pleased with it indeed.

I Must Confess

I am indeed referring to Britney's classic, before the crazee days she did release some right corkers!, Hit Me Baby One More Time. I saw the video today for the first time in ages, that's what it's like at my college. I don't know about yours but the girls do wear tiny skirts and tied shirts all the time, it's the social norm apparently. Obviously i don't conform, but Susan on the other hand, you've seen her profile, she likes the tied shirt look! hardyha.

I confess it, all i do is borrow Susan, Sister B's and Sister W's clothes. Most of my oufits include an item that's not mine. Today i went all out and decided to only wear my vest top and belt. I think if your gonna do it, you might as well go for it. The jeans, gold top and under vest top are not my own. Well it's not like i'm gonna refuse if they're offering!

I realise the first photo is blurry but it looked better than the other one i took from that angle, not that i'm a pro or anything. The last photo is the detail of my outfit, which gathered mainly around the waist area. Due to the chilly weather that Susan reported on in the previous post i wore many a-layer today. 5 infact. Layering is our game. It's official.

Those are Pamela's white shorts. I have to wear them by the end of this week. the pocket pops out of the bottom on one side, amusing. There is also a stain on my waistcoat, don't you worry, got rid of that before I went out. Now that would be nice and embarassing.

The reason for the change was that we went once for the bus and it was chucking it down, so we gave up and went home, even though the bus was coming round the corner. The official line is that we missed it, truthfully we just couldn't be bothered. So we went home and decided to go in for 3rd period, so I got changed to dress more accordingly for the weather. When I got outside it had stopped raining and was sunnier. Sod's law and that. And I forgot my purse.I read this the other day. you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, apparently, but that's what attracted me to it. It's quite depressing, but in a strangely nice way. It was perfect for the mood I was in, it's told in an emotionally unattached way and you can imagine the main character is just coasting through life, waiting for it to happen, a bit like me. I read some bits about his other books and I'm planning to read Revolutionary Road next, Richard Yates seems to like the theme of disappointment with ordinary suburban life. His characters always seem to expect and want something more from life but never quite achieve it. Powerful stuff kids. Do you ever feel like you could be doing more with your life, making something happen instead of waiting for something to come to you? Have you ever done it, just gone out there and done somthing that made a massive difference to your life? Inspire me!

Leathery OOOLALA!

I really really really really really really really really really really really want a leather skirt. like a ridiculous amount, i do. I can't remember if i've mentioned this before. I think i'm slightly addicted. i do that alot, i decide i want something and then i just can't stop thinking about it or looking for it in every shop i go in. I looked in a load of charity shops the other day and only found two. Two for heavens sake! i used to always see them, now that i want one they're all mysteriously gone..... suspicious no?

I'm not too fussed about style or length or anything. if it's long i'll cut it. if you can cut leather that is. I just want one now. boy do i sound spoilt. i actually have £10 to my name at this moment in time and it's a friends birthday on saturday. so i can't even afford one. but i'll find a way. I WILL!!

I've been ebay hunting for one. and my goodness there are some slutty creations about. a backless version being a prime example of this. it has a couple of straps across the back and that was all. i was despic-ed. if your at all intrigued in this dominatrix skirt just search in ebay uk 'real leather tight skirt'. no one will judge you! :)

Back to actual leather skirts, there are mounatins of them on ebay. i just typed in leather skirt and my size, and voila, hey presto! Hundreds of the blooming things. there are a few in particular that i like...

I am indeed strangely drawn to this one. yes, the poppers do work and no it's not one of the slutty creations. I actually really like it but it finishes in 2 hours. Though it's not real leather which is a huge plus. i don't know what to do. i am officially stumped. Do i buy it? Do i not?

There are a few others that i like that finish later.

Now this one has pockets and it's vintage. but it may be longer than i wanted. hmmm.

Or i could go for the super shiny plain one, i hate the buckle detail at the top but hopefully that could be remedied.

I think i should just go crazeee and spend the little money i have on one but then i won't be able to socialise for a few weeks. when would it wear it then? who knows. i shall post again soon with the outcome of this very trying dilemma!

Know Your Onion!

Is a good song by The Shins. It also refers to how many layers I wear. I'm nowhere near as skilled at this as the undispute queen of layering Susie Bubble but it's sort of my signature where I come from. It's also a little bit about practicality, I'm almost always wearing at least 2 more layers than everyone else and I'm still cold. But I also get warm really easily, no idea what's going on there, shitty homeostasis (well I remember one thing from GCSE science, so that's nice)

As you can see I also had a vest top underneath, but its a tad see through and I don't intend this to be some kind of (very) soft porn site.

Well that was Monday, so now Today:

I had massive stomper boots on and was unfortunately wearing my Topshop military coat. Looked a bit like a Nazi. Now I've said Nazi and porn in this post. Its a good day. This top makes me look like a tudor as well. Great.

Speaking of nazi's, the horse that won the Grand National was called Comply Or Die which I think sounds a little bit like a fascist slogan.

Anyway, Coleen McLoughlin wore Balenciaga to the National. She isn't the most annoying celebrity and to be quite frank sometimes she doesn't dress too badly. For a WAG. You would think having that amount of money would sort your wardrobe out quite nicely but apparently not (See most other WAGs)

It is ok. She takes away the wow factor I think, it just looks nice. In a way this is good as it shows someone of a normal size an wear one of these dresses and look good. She doesn't look bad, but it could have been so much better.

Idiotics.

This is my own personal science of being an idiot.
I've never been particularly graceful, in fact I'm clumsy. I've been known to fall, often. I'm also very impatient.

This leads me to the two stupid things I have done in the last couple of days, and these are only the fashion related ones.

The first is that I was wearing my pink skirt from H&M which I have had for years and years but I don't care. I got it when I first decided I wanted to dress a bit differently, instead of a Bench, Hooch and FCUK clone. So I was wearing it, I was sat down, decided to stand up and then I have no idea how, I stood on the back of it and ripped it.

According to my dear mother it is fixable, but how annoying! It goes on a long list of alterations and repairs I will one day get round to.

The second, and altogether more ridculously foolish, event was what I did to my new dress. We went shopping on Friday and I got a sheer grey flowery dress for £4. It was almost ankle length so I knew I would we lopping the bottom half off. So I am impatient. Bascally some few hours after I get home I get out the scissors and start cutting away. It has gone from being ankle length to barely skimming my ass! And to top it off its not even a slightly straight line.

Oh and I did have a full length photo but guess what, I deleted it. You can believe this or not but I am not actually a complete dumbass, usually.

Bugger it, I can layer. if there's one thing I can do it's layering.

On a lighter note I got some shoes, also £4. God bless Primark. They are highly impractical for april showers and extremely thin soled but heck, they're pretty.

A day of ebay and fash in the attic

I have been searching on ebay for a good few hours. There's some treasures out there kids but I prefer to buy stuff where I can actually try it on so I know its good.

And now some denim related news. I have had strong desires for high waisted denim shorts, the type seen on Nicole Richie and Chloe Sevigny. Kind of mom jean-ish. Apparently I have had some kind of memory failure as a month or two ago I had come across some of my mum's old jeans that she had cut into knee length shorts. maybe it was subconscious that I had been desiring them, who knows.

So today they drifted back into my mind and I went and found them. Cut them up. And Bob, he is my uncle, high waisted denim shorts!

Totally Addicted

I have loads of coursework to do. Instead all i have done is read thousands of blogs and internet shop. It's addictive! I am actually hooked. When i do eventually sit down to work i just daydream about possible outfits i could wear. College are just going to have to appreciate that i have an addiction that i could never give up, even if my work starts to suffer.
Anyhow, these are some shoes i have put on my wishlist, i could live with one or the other as they're reasonably similar in that they're both neutral coloured heels. I found them at urbanoutfitters.com, they're also both Frye Agatha so quite expensive for me.

I'm also now quite obsessed by Thigh High Boots (they desreve capitalise-ing!) since Rumi of Fashion Toast posted about the ones she is selling, which i love, i am obsessed. I really really want some. not Pretty Woman style ones but like the ones on Fashion Toast. (I apologise for not knowing how to link, but there is a link at the top, in the list of blog names, for Fashion Toast) Knowing my luck i will never find any:(
