I told you I shopped. It's not like I committed a crime. Just a small fashion crime

I have finally had some time to just dress up, something I love to do, a bit too much. I've been scarily busy lately, and I like to think I'm a relaxed individual but these past few weeks, urgh.

So... they say if you remeber it the first time around, you shouldn't go there. But I'm saying the 90s doesn't count. This was entirely unintentional but how 90s do I wanna be? Crop top, check, doc martens (almost identical to the ones I had when I was about 8), Courtney Love style slip , check, grunge vibe - check. eek.
If Laura Ashley went to Studio 54...My mum recently commented that I was learning to colour co-ordinate. How wrong she was... I'm using props. That's nice.

Took this a long time ago, I've even had a haircut since, and I'm not a frequenter of the barber's chair. I was going for a Richard Nicoll vibe here, have now written vibe twice in this post, now three times. Anyway, this is Pamela's skirt and I would have liked to wear in the normal way but as I have the legs of a shetland pony it is not a viable option. So I tuck and fold. I've been having my shoulders out and about a bit recently. Crikey.
I've been watching the Rachel Zoe project. Very good television. I enjoyed when she said to her husband 'You know I hate it when you trivialise what I do'. It was like that scene about belts in The Devil Wears Prada. She takes fashion very seriously, and I can see how people think her job is pointless or whatever and her excessive use of hyperbole is nearly killing me off. Seriously. I die. But in actual fact I think she has my dream job.

Happy Birthday Miss Wendy-May!

This is what I was cooking up all week long.....

The Skirt! Susan made Wendy-May an amazing scrapbook all about her and the times we've shared together. It's seriously awesome. I also baked brownie which seemed to be a success at our picnic in a deer barn thing. It sounds weirder than it was. We spent the evening in a very lovely and rather classy pub just having a chat and laughing away whilst slowly but surely getting a little drunk. It was an excellent day I think Wendy-May would agree.

But the partying continues tomorrow when we go out on the old razzle dazzle. I shall be wearing my Alice McCall dress! I'm not sure what tights and shoes to wear though. Or what jacket. Argh what decisions!

Apologies if the next couple of weeks are a bit quiet around here we've all got exams, interviews and trips coming up so unfortunately they have to take priority over anything fun.

Well Well Mr Decarnin,

Rather excellent collection you provided us with Christophe, congratulations!

It's Wendy-May's super sweet 18th on Sunday. Wahey!!! Party Time again! So myself and Susan have been busy little house elves all week long. (Watch out Dobby, you've got some competition.) Unfortunately I'm unable to disclose exactly what we've been up to until the day of as the birthday girl is unawares. It's all a surprise but I promise to post after sunday as I'm rather excited about one thing in particular.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Pamela

p.s. Did anyone see Red Riding, Thursday Night on Channel 4? They filmed it in and around our town, which is quite the exciting prospect. It's funny to hear how Yorkshire we are around here. I've decided I love my accent! I bet we'd sound really funny if we ever met any fellow bloggers...

You got a lovely way with words, must be the way you see the world.

Now in these times of economic crisis, which we cannot help but hear about, it is handy to be a little crafty. Which I love to do anyway, but now everyone seems to be doing it more. Too this I say great, it's about time more people looked at a top and saw there were other ways to wear it! Pour example, this top borrowed from Pamela, can be worn in 3 ways, most likely more, as this only took me about 5mins at the most!

Normal:
Backwards:

Skirt:
Top: Pamela.
Belts: both vintage
Tights: Marks and Spencers
This week I have been incredibly lazy, as it has been the holidays and I have been pretending to be busy and doing lots of work so I can go to uni! This has resulted in becoming a tad uninspired when it comes to clothing, I am ashamed to admit. Therefore I decided, before I face the public once more, I would do what I like to do and try outfits, using Pamel's, Susan nd our friends Miss A's clothes.
Pink dress: Susans, from the clothes show.
Waist coat: Mine, orginally Miss A's, from Topshop.
Floral Skirt: Miss A's- a gift from Susan, from a Vintage shop.
Gold top- Susans...from where I know not.
Tights: Marks and Spencers

Last Wednesday Pamela and I went to Liverpool University, as it is my number one! Susan could not make it as she was Universiting in London. Some guy asked us to take part in a psychology experiment to do with odour...I don't know how we should of taken this but he offered us £10, we had to decline, telling him we weren't actually students there (yet!). Even though it is 7months away I am stupidly excited, mainly because Liverpool is a great city, and "student friendly", translation: cheap nights out! O and the course is the best, which is a selling point. Anyway, enough who-ha. This is what I wore:

Denim Jacket: Susans. Charity Shop, Orginally Gap me thinks.
Skirt: Topshop
Tights: Pamela's
Necklaces: Spring Festival, Charity shop and stolen from my sisters room, but she doesn't need to know that!

If I Were...

Going To The Oscars. I would wear one of these (I limited myself to choose only from the couture 09 shows so far).
Christian Dior

Christian Dior
Jean Paul Gaultier

Elie Saab

Elie Saab

Anne Valerie Hash

Valentino

Christian Lacroix

Christian Dior

Christian Dior

That was soo bloody tricky to decide upon, in the end i just closed my eyes and pointed at the screen to choose which images to use. Aren't the couture collections, so far, just excellent? All of them! I'm very impressed i must say. What I wouldn't do to own one of the Dior gowns. John Galliano is genius. I would like to be his friend please. If only.

So my last post was ageeees ago about my interview for Uni. I would like to thank all the lovely people who gave me advice, it seriously came in handy! To be frank i thought I'd done shit, i had to present my portfolio and i was sooo nervous I can't remember what i said or what she asked me, it was quite horrendous. Then i had to fill in a questionnaire about myself and my knowledge of the industry, at this point I thought about the advice people gave me, to be myself, so instead of putting quite reserved answers i put what I really wanted. Then we all left thinking we had two weeks to wait for the decision. 2 days later i found out I had got in!!! SUCCESS! I can't tell you how excited i was and still am! there was screaming and crying and shock and a lot of frantic phone calls involved. I now know where i'll be for the next 3 years, what an odd concept!

If anyone needs me i'll be at Portsmouth Uni, just strolling along the beach, you know, thinking of the collection I have to design for my own catwalk and the work i have to do with contemporary designer's that show at London Fashion Week. What a boring life it's going to be.

Sarcasm aside, i am terribly nervous that i'm going be in wayyy over my head. Hell! for the moment i shall just enjoy and be incredibly excited!!

A serious thankyou to the advice givers, cheers alot guys!

Suburbia.

On a Sunday, when I definately should have been doing something more educationally productive, and the neighbours were out in full force to look bemused by our car posing, we did this. A bit inspired by Revolutionary road, which I'm very excited about, a bit inspired by Grease and a bit inspired by Style On Trial, catch up on iplayer, it's good. We didn't live in the fifities, but if we did, this is what we would have looked like.
We may continue with these little photo shoots, its rather fun. Hope you like.

'God is Universal'

Don't really believe in God or anything but if there is a force out there would it please make these trousers exist thank you. Bleach and studs! Think how many people you would make happy with one pair of trousers.

Topshop has been known to be a bit cheeky and show one of a kind designs that never get to the shops in their adverts but my God let not this be the case! These are excellent, no? These and the union jack skirt. Super. Quite like the chaise-longue aswell.
Big changes this weekend hopefully, bit of a blog identity crisis. Any ideas to improve?

'You will be deprived of exposure'

I'm now going to post some pictures of Christmas outfits, we're not obsessed with Christmas, we enjoy a healthy dose of festive cheer, that is all. It makes me happy though and I hoped to continue in this super happy way.

I am, however, a hypocrite. The first day of college in 2009, I wasn't happy. I had to get up at 7 where usually I would get up at 12. There is no one who is less of a morning person than me. College is hard work and blah so let us cast our minds back to the christmas season...

I had planned, like the happy little elf I am (was) to dress like a Christmas miracle for the last week. It was only four days and the only picture I got of Thursday's outfit was from an unfortunate squatting position. So no to that one. I shouldn't have told people as I frequently got, 'it's not that festive' Oh really? At least I'm making a frickin effort here. No appreciation I tell you. Hope you like.

Day 1.

Day 2.

Day3.

And here is what I wore on the big day itself. As the photo suggests, I spent the day dancing nonstop. the dress was a present from dear sister A, it's got a crazy diagonal zip and is puff-ball-y.

And to ring in the New year what better than sequins, a tutu and a crate of Magners. That's pamela the drunk there, in a damn sexy Alice McCall for Topshop dress which I am sure she will share with you when the time is right. In typical me fashion I was in the Kitchen getting more glasses for the Champagne when it struck midnight. But twas fun nonetheless. So happy new Year!!!
Oh yes I now have boy hair. Though I do still have a face. the camera does lie after all.

'You drop a pen in the snow, you don't go looking for it'

I know Christmas is over now, a fair bit ago, but I haven't really had time to post due to the holidays/family gatherings/revision(which I haven't really done much of actually!), and it is snowing here!!I love Christmas...well more the build up to it, but I have vowed when I am older I will make it a big thing, with lots of family.

So what did I get I hear you say (probably not but still...also I realise this is just me showing off lovely things sorry!)

Well Susan was my unsecret santa and she gave me some fabby things! (Thank you again deary)
The picture of this makes it look as if it is shiny. It is not.

Another friend Mr B put money towards these, which I love, and on New Years I managed to wear them and dance in them for 8 hours.

I also love the stocking presents santa (my mother and dad) got me, which included YSL perfume and slippers, along with all the little things I don't think about but actually need, genius.
Topshop sale is also upon us, which is lovely as having a job means that I can actually afford some of the shoes, so I got some. These in fact. They haven't arrived yet though :(

OOO and I passed my driving test (sorry again for showing off but I am so happy about it, as I no longer have to get the bus from college and I can lay in for longer, yes I am lazy.)

Well now I must try and motivate myself to revise....apparently meditation is the key to this. However I do not have the concentration for this and would soon be interrupted by my thoughts if I were to try it.
xx

P.S. Some changes will be made to this little blog at the end of January when all of our exams are out of the way.
