There's a Possibility it Wouldn't Show.

My wardrobe looks like it just exploded, my chair just broke under the weight of my overflowing suitcase and I've yet to start on the shoes and coats, and my head feels a bit funny, possibly due to a messy end to last night... oh, I love Christmas!
I have had an amazing week, existing in pre-Christmas limbo, cooking roast dinners for ten (never attempt this) and shopping for presents... and myself! With Christmas comes parties, and excuses to drink and dance in an otherwise unacceptable excess. My University's ball was one such extravagance, held in the Rivoli ballroom... an amazing building you would not expect to find in South East London!

Even though I've been having an amazing time, I can't wait to get home and have heating and see my friends, and do something!

Argue with Your Sister, only God knows how you'll miss Her.

Sometimes it's nice to stay in bed listening to French music and eating caramel waffles all day, when you know you really should be doing work, or at least something constructive with your time. Similarly, sometimes you know your morals will never win out; do you miss important lectures or have a lovely, if not freezing, day with one of your best friends? Irresponsibility will always triumph. And so yesterday I got to see Tori and had a wonderful time in the city, being childish at the natural history museum and spending money I don't have. Sadly, she had to go, but all good things come to an end.
We also made a trip to Beyond Retro, where despite living in London I had never been. I decided on some knee high boots, as I have been looking for some for a long time, and they were in my price range. And they're awesome.

I have a Christmas ball in a week, and am trying to not spend money so I am going to wear a pre-existing element of my wardrobe. I'm torn between over the top sparkle, in the form of this Kate Moss dress that I've had for ages but cannot find the right occasion to wear...

Or a softer, comfier and WARMER look; I'm kind of leaning towards this 70s maxi-dress I bought in Brighton (again with Cicely and Tori!) this weekend. I love this look but it doesn't work that well on me, seeing as I'm not seven foot tall and slim.

I love this picture, I think she looks fabulous.

Have no idea what to go for!
But now, I'm going to meet my long-estranged sister!

200. Switched On.

It's been a week since the I was in the wonderful company of those lovely ladies, and I want to see them again already. It's freezing cold and the wind is noisier than my music, and I'm home alone working on a friday night... something to do with actually having work to do when you decide to do a degree. Don't ask, it shocked me to the core as well. That and the fact I hate going out in the rain forced me to stay behind closed doors. Anyway, I have procrastinated for long enough, I have four essays to do, but here are some pictures and a video that I love.

Sensational!

We 4 ladies met up this weekend in London for the first time in 7 weeks. It was lovely to say the least! Lots of dressing up ensued and a fair bit of shopping.
I kinda fell in love with Brick Lane, the only dodgy thing was at night when people try to coax you into their restaurant with discounts and freebies, it was a little intimidating actually but mainly amusing.
Here are some photos from my weekend spent with three of the most wonderful people in the world and one of my lovely big sis at halloween (just cos i thought the photograph was cool.)

I hadn't realised how many i'd taken of Sally. Oops...
All in all an excellent and eventful weekend!
I plan on posting photos of all my new purchases since i've been in Portsmouth, this may take a while because I've been so naughty and shopped. A lot.
Have a lovely day one and all!

Forgive me, banker, for I have sinned...

But sometimes sinning looks so good...
I have never spent so much on one item in my life before; but I have no regrets so I don't care if I am judged. Whoever said money doesn't buy happiness, because I certainly forgot all my woes when I had these babies on my feet and this silk slipping through my fingers. I'm quite literally the worst student ever, I can't afford these things but I honestly don't care.

And my favourite (and guiltiest) part...

And the best part of my day? I saw Colin Firth switching the lights on and got a gingerbread Latte from Starbucks. And I went to a marmite house; we had a selection of marmite snacks and then had our photos taken by the marmite people because we loved marmite and they loved our love for marmite. I'm outraged at the absurdity of this early Christmas spirit, but at the same time it's put me in a jolly old festive mood!

Absorb Yourself In Reality

A couple of weeks ago I lost the long silver ring I purchased whilst we were on holiday in Majorca. As Cicely put it I was obviously "raving too enthusiastically". What can I say...sometimes you have to!This is a very sad thing indeed as it was lovely, like non I've seen around and of course brought me memories. I really want to find a new, long silver ring, but so far my efforts have been fruitless :( any ideas of where I would be able to find one?
Whilst Ebaying for a ring of said description I stumbled upon some really cute hair grips (I love how you can get lost in Ebay, but it is also a curse sometimes!). They arrived today, post generally makes me smile and when these arrived they made me smile lots and lots, simply because the packaging was so lovely and cute!

I love when the smallest things put a smile on your face. Today has been a day of that. Hope all is well!

Hello my friend, I see you're back again. Hello mystery, don't bother to explain

I shall precurse this post with the statement 'I'm a shit blogger'. This is partly due to the fact that I don't own a camera, a pretty important tool for a blogger you would think. It is also due to the fact that I'm beyond poor at time management.

University is amazing but strange. I've met so many lovely and amazing and interesting people which sounds like such an empty statement but it's actually true! At the same time it's difficult to find people who measure up to my splendid co-bloggers.

But this blog is about style, something Brighton has is spades I tell you! I think it's similar to London in that so many people have interesting/unusual/crazy style and no one stares!! The shopping here is, so far, pretty damn good. When I've really explored every nook and cranny (and don't get lost so much) and have a camera, you'll be getting a full report of the retail delights!!

Meanwhile, in lieu of anything remotely brighton or university related I'll leave you with some lovely inspirational images. And some trousers I want...

I think most are from tumblr, what a lovely invention, mainly zoeclaudia.
I'm off to Portsmouth for Halloween, and my do we have some awesome outfits planned. No doubt Tori will get snap happy so evidence will be available soon. x

Rollin' With My Homies

This week has been pretty lovely, despite the stressing over two essays I have to do. I've done one (yay!) but I have one more to do before I had south for Bonfire Night to visit Abbie, Tori and Cicely. I'm very excited about this visit!!

This past friday my friends Phoebe and Ben came up to visit, which was lovely, but very odd once they had gone, as it was nice to have homeland friends around. I hope they come visit again one day. We pull normal faces in photos.

My friend Abby and I volunteer for a charity called READ and this Wednesday it held a halloween party, for which we had to decorate a local shot bar. I like to think we did a good job seeing as we had to get decorations from shops by asking them to be nice and donate. It must be said, my friends had some pretty funny/ awesome outfits! Though I suppose you could say I'm a little bias, as I did make one of them, out of a white sheet...what could it of been?

Photobucket

I even attached the hood! Though it was a bit of a rushed job!

Photobucket
We were a bat, a devil, a cat, a pumpkin, a ladybird, and of course a ghost! Can't wait for actually halloween, but I wish it was a bigger holiday over here in good old England.
On Sunday my lovely mum came to visit. She took me out for lunch and we went shopping (of course!it's what you do when mothers come visit at uni!). I was debating whether to get a sequin jacket as I love them, but we decided this one was better because 1) I would wear it more and 2) it was in the sale. A winner really.

Photobucket

I also got some lovely boots from POP boutique and some ear muffs which I feel are essential for the cold weather which will hit very soon.
