Hello my friend, I see you're back again. Hello mystery, don't bother to explain

I shall precurse this post with the statement 'I'm a shit blogger'. This is partly due to the fact that I don't own a camera, a pretty important tool for a blogger you would think. It is also due to the fact that I'm beyond poor at time management.

University is amazing but strange. I've met so many lovely and amazing and interesting people which sounds like such an empty statement but it's actually true! At the same time it's difficult to find people who measure up to my splendid co-bloggers.

But this blog is about style, something Brighton has is spades I tell you! I think it's similar to London in that so many people have interesting/unusual/crazy style and no one stares!! The shopping here is, so far, pretty damn good. When I've really explored every nook and cranny (and don't get lost so much) and have a camera, you'll be getting a full report of the retail delights!!

Meanwhile, in lieu of anything remotely brighton or university related I'll leave you with some lovely inspirational images. And some trousers I want...

I think most are from tumblr, what a lovely invention, mainly zoeclaudia.
I'm off to Portsmouth for Halloween, and my do we have some awesome outfits planned. No doubt Tori will get snap happy so evidence will be available soon. x

Rollin' With My Homies

This week has been pretty lovely, despite the stressing over two essays I have to do. I've done one (yay!) but I have one more to do before I had south for Bonfire Night to visit Abbie, Tori and Cicely. I'm very excited about this visit!!

This past friday my friends Phoebe and Ben came up to visit, which was lovely, but very odd once they had gone, as it was nice to have homeland friends around. I hope they come visit again one day. We pull normal faces in photos.

My friend Abby and I volunteer for a charity called READ and this Wednesday it held a halloween party, for which we had to decorate a local shot bar. I like to think we did a good job seeing as we had to get decorations from shops by asking them to be nice and donate. It must be said, my friends had some pretty funny/ awesome outfits! Though I suppose you could say I'm a little bias, as I did make one of them, out of a white sheet...what could it of been?

Photobucket

I even attached the hood! Though it was a bit of a rushed job!

We were a bat, a devil, a cat, a pumpkin, a ladybird, and of course a ghost! Can't wait for actually halloween, but I wish it was a bigger holiday over here in good old England.
On Sunday my lovely mum came to visit. She took me out for lunch and we went shopping (of course!it's what you do when mothers come visit at uni!). I was debating whether to get a sequin jacket as I love them, but we decided this one was better because 1) I would wear it more and 2) it was in the sale. A winner really.

I also got some lovely boots from POP boutique and some ear muffs which I feel are essential for the cold weather which will hit very soon.

Always Like This...

... at least I wish it was; this is the sad end of the perfect weekend. Friday I saw my favourite redhead for the first time in far too long, which was perfectly lovely... we went to the beach in the rain, drank, walked and talked until (almost) morning, then saw UP in the cinema the next day, which was hilarious. The only bad thing was that I was there for one night only; definitely not long enough. After I'd made my way home I had a nice evening in with the girls I live with.
I also, inevitably, ended up doing some cheeky shopping in Portsmouth...

Today was my favourite kind of crisp, sunny day and so we went to the park with croissants, Chai Latte and unfortunately for you, a camera..

This is dreadful of me, but I like the photo. My house is practically across the road from this park, and we have this amazing view of all of London... if it isn't too arctic I come and read here.

Loved this guy and his bike... I think he may have seen me taking photos though... no matter!

Pain au Chocolat and Chai Latte... perfect afternoon breakfast.

A Moment A Love A Dream Aloud A Kiss A Cry

This post isn't really fashion related, I just thought I'd share some pictures with you of Albert Docks in the night time. We wondered down there about half 11 one night, something to do I suppose. It is a lovely place to sit and make shapes out of the clouds, but must be said, it was truly freezing!
The little residential area there looks so lovely. I would love to live in on of the flats. We spied through the windows (asking for it when you don't have curtains) and I loved how the ceilings of the apartments had exposed brick. Yes, I clearly watched too many grand designs in my day.

Awh, young love!

This cold weather just makes me want to snuggle up in some big knitwear with a peppermint tea, so naturally the other day I could not resist the call of a truly Christmas-esque item. Marks and Spencers finest!

Three of us went to Leeds this weekend for a house party. It was a little strange being so close to home but not actually going home. And if I'm honest, I missed Liverpool when I was there!

... We'll collect the moments one by one, I guess that's how the future's done...

I have to say, the transition between London and the little village in Yorkshire I hail from was almost like moving abroad. There is such an enormous difference in atmosphere, temperature, people's attitude to life, the way the morning smells and I suppose the most obvious to onlookers in the way people dress; especially at Goldsmith's, my university. Over the hills and far away, the green green grass of home plays host to around seven zillion girls with identikit wardrobes, hairstyles and aspirations. Here, though, the girls who would perhaps have stuck out like sore thumbs (albeit beautiful ones) have become the overwhelming majority. And while everyone is in some way the same, they also manage to retain some kind of originality and flair.
But this I all expected, I attended the open day and got the general vibe of the University, but what did surprise me is that the boys here seem equally, if not more style conscious than the girls. At home I can't say if I ever met more than a handful of stylish boys. Here, though, boys seem utterly at ease with themselves and with the fact that they can be fashionable without being seen as gay or abnormal. I love it.
I guess that's just what comes of studying at a "University of le Arts"...
Anyways, this is what I've been doing and wearing recently.

Aha, Shake, Taper Jean Girl, With A Motel Face

I told myself I would not go shopping as I knew I couldn't resist the urge to buy things in Liverpool. This didn't last long, but a girl just needs some things.

Boots: H&M - i believe this purchase was fate, I was meant to go to the gym but forgot my purse, on the way to retrieve it I got a text from my friend Chloe asking if I wanted to go to town because Dothory Perkins had 20% off and the cast from hollyoaks, o and free food! So I went, went into H&M saw some light pink pumps I wanted, but they didnt have my size, so I did not get them. On walking past the other H&M in town I decided I would have a peak and see if they had my size, but I got distracted by these boots instead. Fate.

Some random clothes outfits. The first outfit, oddly, I wore the other day when in the afternoon I came to check this blog and saw that Tori, in her "hello hello from portsmouth" post was wearing basically the same outfit. Great minds!

Hello Hello from Portsmouth!

I've been here only a week and a half but it's been such a blur, I've already visited Cicely in Brighton, started my course and managed to get very drunk too many times than I care to or can remember!
I'm absolutely loving it, the city and my flatmates are incredible. My course is very scary, but hopefully i'll get into it a bit more over the next few weeks.
I don't want to bore you so i'll just get on with sharing pictures of things I've bought since I got my loan and some photos of things around my new room...

Found this dress in the H&M sale. It's amazing! You can unzip it around the waist and you've got yourself a crop top! The shoulders are excellent as well, they kind of stick out and are covered with zips. (Excuse the orange top underneath, i was too lazy to take it off!)

Pink trousers! I've wanted some for aaages and I found some in the H&M sale.

H&M sale is my favourite!

I truly hate mirror photos, but it's the only way I have at the moment so I can only apologise.

I'm going to go get my flatmates to amuse me now. Till we meet again! xx

You Make My Dreams.

First of all; Happy Birthday Cicely!
Ona 'cultured' note, I went to the V&A to see the British Fashion exhibition, which was quite interesting, but really not as good as I was hoping for. All the same, stop by if you're in London, each to their own and it may appeal to your tastes more than mine. I've also been to the Tate Modern and the National Portrait Gallery since I moved here; the latter was really good but I suppose it could get boring... but I could actually wander the halls of the Tate Modern until I died! Next weekend we're going to the Tate Britain, which I also love... I love that my housemates are equally as geeky as I am and will actually come with me. I suppose it helps that I go to an arty University.
For the first week or so of my residence here, I couldn't really think of my house in London as 'home'. Home to me means mother goose, annoying brothers, incredible friends, familarity, my belonging and fields (which I miss almost as much as the dog I used to walk in them). It's pretty safe to say that my house is now a home from home.
I suppose I've settled in, I never have enough food in the house and it's always a mess; living with (a.k.a. cleaning up after) boys is almost an occupation in itself, lets just thank goodness I've only got eight uni hours a week! Nevertheless, I love it here, and have managed to make my room seem 'homely' and cosy enough... it's also handy that Telegraph Hill park is literally across the road from my house; makes the green green grass of home not such an alien idea.

I wore this out the other day... it's getting to the stage where it's so cold a jacket is required. Is it wrong that I'm glad? I love winter.
