High Heels, High Drama

Sometimes I don't know why I go on the topshop website as it upsets me so. All these nice things and I can't get them! O well I can just look and hope......

It's not all bad though! I found a jacket from H&M and it was in the sale! It was lovely, I wasn't really looking for one even though I have been wanting one for a while, and it was there, half price! It's a black blazer, a tad like a tail coat, I shall past some outfit pictures of it once I get my camera back. I also found a black velvet dress in Oxfam, which I will take picture of at a later date! Semi-finale of Britains Next Top Model tonight and they are off to South Africa. Can't say I am too happy about the finale 4, infact I don't really mind who wins but I've watched it all so I will finish watching it.

In the adverts for this episode it showed part of the photo shoot in South Africa and it looks EXACTLY like the photo shoot they did for ANTM in South Africa with the people dancing around the models. We shall see if it actually is soon!

Shake! Shake! Shake!

Saturday in our world was pretty brilliant this weekend. We all went to a friends family party, got very drunk and danced the night away! We got to dress up and party, always a wonderful time. And this is what we wore..... Ha! No Wendy-May didn't wear this unfortunately, though i think it looks really cool! We wore this instead.....

Me, Pammy, on the far left - with the pink face wearing everyone elses clothes, the only things that are actually mine are the white top and shoes. Sister A, centre left. Wendy-May, centre right, wearing mostly her own clothes, something i've never grasped the idea of. Brother B, no not brother bear (though i imagine he'd be a lovely friend), far right.

The faces had to be coloured in because no one knows about this blog of our friends. I must point out that our faces aren't that shape, i went around the hair you see.

Anddd last but by no means least, Susan! She will cause me severe pain for using this photo, i predict. I apologise for how terribly it shows her wonderful outfit but i shall not take the blame, she avoids cameras at all costs, unless, i must bring this to attention, she's taking them of herself, so there aren't any decent photos of her to show you. Apologies! By the by, she is curtsying here and has pulled her skirt dress outwards, if you were wondering what on earth was going on. It's a real shame there aren't any photos of the shoes she's wearing as they absolutely fabulous! She shall have to post a photo of them.

Hope everyone else had a wondrous a weekend as we did!

It's spelled like Gucky which can be confusing!

I hadn't looked at the Gucci FW collection coz, you know, its Gucci. No offence. Let's say I'm not mature enough to appreciate it. But it is quite nice. They got carried away with the velvet and there's a certain degree of fringing which just isn't acceptable in social circles. I think its the belts and ethnic embellishments and prints that do it for me, and the studded boots - though they're not as good as the Louboutin stunners. It also brings me joy because often FW stuff can be too depressing and bland colour-wise but I can see this translating well to summer wear. Just remove the velvet trousers and you're sorted.

Quick question, is Abbey Lee pure evil?

If you scroll up and down really quickly the carpet is scary.

Camera wh*re

More photos from the other weekend. Just because I was very annoying and wouldn't stop taking photos therefore I have loads. And we rarely show evening attire.

Because I haven't had a good dress up in a while and because the 'crew' and a friend did a swap thing where we all borrowed 2 things from each other, so we lend 6 and borrow 6, and wear them over the next 2 weeks. Its actually rather excellent because it's like I went shopping but spent no money! maybe this is what shoplifting is like...
This is about as Masculine as I get with my outfits. Don't want to give people more ammuntion. Ah the brogues make their first appearance.
I like to think this is a little bit Degas.
Block colours and florals. It was quite nice to go ott on colour as I think I've been toning down my hues of late.

Also, I have just heard some of Scarlett Johansson's album. It is good. Not what I expected, in a good way. I hear someone out of TV On The Radio had a hand in it, you can really tell, this is good. Overall, it is good.

Stealing is bad. Just to clarify.

Anatomy of an outfit

I don't want to give the wrong impression here. I'm not one of those people who thinks about things all the time. Well to be fair when it comes to some stuff I can over think with the best of them. But I'm also one of those people who looks really thoughtful when actually there is nothing going on in my little brain. Nothing.

However, when it comes to fashion I use lots of my brain, admittedly mainly on a subconscious level. I load it with images and ideas and eventually these filter out, forming outfits and making me make choices about what to wear with what. Sometimes I don't notice I'm doing it but today I did. God I sound pretentious. Apologies, I'm just trying to get my, strange, point across.

I think I am accidentally explaining what is meant by inspiration. How irritating. what I'm talking about is indirect inspiration, I sort of only realised it afterwards. Heck I've gone round the houses.
Anyway, ramble aside, instead of a normal outfit post, I will show you where I got my ideas from. Not that I am comparing my outfit to these or that I am trying to copy it entirely, I will do that another day.

I also wore these today. Cannot believe I haven't shared these before as I got them ages ago and love them dearly, even if they are thin soled with and the laces come undone, often making me resort to the double knots of my youth. Topshop, for the sublimely lovely fee of £5. I shall wear them until they are entirely destroyed.

Swarovski Runway Rocks

You may have already seen them but there's no harm in seeing them twice. How glorious most of them were. I watched 30 minutes of video in absolute awe. Can't imagine how long it would have taken to make them all and get them all on the models.
I can't even pick a favourite!
Photos are from styledash.com and New York Magazine's website.

Sun in the sky, you know how I feel.

So yesturday the weather was all lovely today, so the 3 of us and a friend spent all day in my garden bein lazy, only moving to get an ice pop! I found this skirt a bit ago that I havent worn for years and we decided then that we were going to do a little bit of D.I.Y on it and make it wearable once more! It is orginally from River Island and was just plain white, so naturally I wanted colour! After finding I had no useable paintbrushes we decided to use bits of plastic bags screwed up and dipped in paint, and this was the end result! Pretty cool, even if I do say so myself! (sorry about the pictures I am still cameraless!)

We also hand printed a white T-shirt that Pammy had and had wanted to do something with, it was also a success and looks like something you could get from Zara. I'm sure she will post a picture of it at a later date.
On another note, the last time I went shopping was a while ago but I need manage to find a couple of bargains, even though I shouldn't really of got them I did! The first dress is from H&M sale, reduced from £30 to £5 which is always nice! The second is from Zara.

I finally got to wear my playsuit! To a field. Not the best place to wear it but I could not be bothered to wait for a good enough occassion to wear it, and it was perfect for the weather!

I feel like it's the summer holidays, but unfortunatly it is not and on monday we have to go back to college for 5 weeks, which is terrible and pointless in my eyes!x
